Under The July Sun

Barbara Joneserschienen am01.07.2011
In July 1914, Southern Ireland is occupied by English soldiers in the run up to Home Rule. Under The July Sun tells the story of a family who experience huge struggles, initiated by the ricochet effect of a group of people who believed murder and violence was the way to achieve their goal.

Cat Delaney, a young Irish woman is caught up in an explosion caused by Irish Nationalists aimed at the British army occupying Southern Ireland. She breaks off her engagement with Paddy Hogan, suspecting his involvement, but is attracted to Louis Ross a Captain in the British Army.

After the British pull out to join the war in Europe, Cat is attacked by Irish Nationalists because she refuses to relinquish her association with Louis. She flees to England, where against all odds she continues to correspond with Louis. As a result, she knows she can never live at home again - it is too dangerous.

But no matter how much distance Cat puts between herself and her homeland, she cannot escape the long arm of vengeance when she fails to save her daughter from Paddy Hogan.
