It says that the local football team has a problem. Everytime the kids want to train, their balls have holes in them and they can´t play.

This sounds like an interesting case, Polly says and flies to the desk to get Stumble´s mobile phone.

Let´s call them and see if we can help them, says Stumble and dials the number of the football club.

Hello, I am Detective Stumble. I have heard that you need help with your footballs, he says.

That´s very nice. We can really need some help here, the coach answers. One hour later, Stumble and Polly arrive at the football ground.

The coach comes to them and shows them some of the broken balls. They all have holes in them. Many holes.

I don´t understand that. Every day when we finish our training, we leave the balls on the field and the next day they have holes in them. How is that possible? the coach wonders.

Stumble and Polly walk around the football ground. They check the fence for holes, but they can´t see anything. Suddenly a football flies through the air and lands exactly on Stumbles head.

Ouch! he screams and looks at a boy and a girl who run across the field.

I am so sorry, are you alright? the boy asks.

It´s okay, but you have to be more careful. Do you know anything about the broken footballs? Stumble asks and tries to smile while he scratches his head.

I don´t know anything, but my sister here has an idea. She thinks that someone comes here at night and destroys the footballs. She thinks it is another team that makes holes in our footballs.

Stumble thinks for a minute and then turns to Polly.

I think they are right, maybe it has something to do with another team. Let´s stay here tonight and observe the football fields.

Later that day, Stumble and Polly observe the area. It is dark outside. They put five balls in the middle of the field. All of a sudden some of the balls start to move.

What is that? Stumble whispers, but Polly can´t see anything in the darkness.

All the balls slowly roll around the field.

Let´s go and check! Polly says and flies away.

She flies to one of the footballs and sees four hedgehogs.

Stop it! Polly screams to the hedgehogs. She looks at detective Stumble. He is very slow and tries to climb over the fence.

We just want to play football, one of the hedgehogs says.

Yes I understand, but you are making holes into the balls. Your spikes are too sharp. The team asked us for help because their footballs are always broken, Polly explains.

The next day Stumble and Polly tell the coach about what they found out.

Everyone loves football, so there is only one possible solution. the coach says.

When we finish our training, we leave a football made of wood outside for the hedgehogs to play. Their spikes can´t destroy it. That way everybody is happy.

Stumble and Polly are happy too. They walk home with a smile on their face because kids and hedgehogs can now play football every day.
