Working cowboy Kevin Warren infuses late-19th century Arizona Territory with his deep, first-hand knowledge of the cowboy life - its long trails, forest fires, unbroken horses, rough characters, and the vast landscapes of the wild West  - in his second action-packed historical Western featuring Captain Tom Skinner.

For fans of classic Westerns by Louis L'Amour, Zane Grey, and Ralph Compton

Tom Skinner no longer rides for the U.S. Cavalry. But when thieves and killers threaten the peace of the Arizona Territory, he charges into battle to wage war against total lawlessness.

Newlyweds Tom and Veronica Skinner have settled down in Red Rock Country to raise Morgan horses. As if learning the horse trade during lean times weren't hard enough, Skinner also has to wrangle Veronica's fourteen-year-old twin brothers. Orphaned by outlaws, the boys are doing their best to make themselves useful on the ranch. What they need is the stable home that Skinner and Veronica can provide after their lives were cruelly torn apart.

But the Rim Rock Ranch has fallen into the sight of a gang of rustlers. Unwilling to let their family fall prey to another band of ruthless badmen, the twins defend their home-only to incur the wrath of Davey Cutlip. A notorious horse thief now wanted for murder, Cutlip is building a rustling empire and has no shame about adding kidnapping to his list of crimes when the twins cross him.

Now, Skinner and his partner Chaco Velez are back in the saddle, armed to the teeth, and out for blood. If any harm falls to his wife's kin, Skinner will deliver his own brand of justice that will leave the outlaws as scarred as the horses they rustle. . .

Autor

Kevin Warren is a lifelong cowboy who spent twenty-three seasons guiding dudes and hunters into remote areas of Wyoming's back country and has made a living with horses as a farrier, outfitter, trainer, barn manager, rancher and riding instructor. His debut novel, Ride a Fast Horse, draws on his first-hand experiences of long trails, forest fires, vast landscapes, unbroken horses, the characters he befriended - and the ones he didn't. Born in the Red Rock Country of central Arizona, he lives with his family in Wyoming.
