Mary Higgins Clark (1927-2020), geboren in New York, lebte und arbeitete in Saddle River, New Jersey. Sie zählte zu den erfolgreichsten Thrillerautorinnen weltweit. Ihre große Stärke waren ausgefeilte und raffinierte Plots und die stimmige Psychologie ihrer Heldinnen.
