Autor

Thomson, Alexis E.Illustrationen
Alexis E. Thomson is a Canadian artist, born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. From an early age she was drawn to the visual arts, exploring mediums such as sculpture, textiles, painting, and illustration. At age 19 she left art school to pursue an apprenticeship and subsequent career as a tattooist. Alexis is best known for her work with birds and botanicals. Since childhood, her main artistic inspiration has come from the study of plants and animals, particularly those native to her home in the Pacific Northwest. In contrast to her fascination with the natural world around her, Alexis also has a keen interest in the mystical. Her studies in mythology, demonology, and cryptozoology frequently inspire her artwork, where she enjoys proposing new or unusual perspectives on classic tales.
