Autor

Married to a career military pilot, Audrey Scharmen spent most of her life stationed in the Southwest desert. That arid climate on top of her Depression-era girlhood in Kansas was relieved when the couple retired along Chesapeake Bay. The Chesapeake Bay was an oasis for the creativity stored in her mind and heart. In Maryland the casings of persistence and grit gave way to nature and gardening and reconnected her to joy. This anthology collects 14 years of stories published in Bay Weekly (nee New Bay Times), a newspaper that has been the meeting place of storytellers and readers.
