Bernice Murphy has been national director of Museums Australia since 2006, with more than three decades of museums-sector experience. She was chief curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, from 1989 until 1997 and director of the museum from 1997 until 1998. She is the editor of Museums Australia Magazine. Leon Paroissien AM was founding Director of the Visual Arts Board (1974-80). He was later Director of the fifth Biennale of Sydney (1984), then Founding Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, and later the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei. He was Adjunct Professor, Design and Architecture, at the University of Canberra (2004-10) and has written extensively on contemporary art and design. He chaired the City of Sydney's Public Art Advisory Panel (2007-19) and continues to be involved in public art projects concerned with the commissioning of contemporary artists.
