Today, AndréFranquin remains an incredibly influential legend of Bandes Dessinées. He was at the helm ofSpirou and Fantasio for 20 years and created their fantastical friend the Marsupilami, as well as one of the most beloved anti-heroes of European comics, Gomer Goof. Jidéhem, whose real name was given to the angry businessman in Gomer, worked with Franquin for years, drawing backgrounds for both Gomer and Spirou, while creating his own series Sophie. Greg was editor-in-chief of Tintin Magazine and an extraordinarily prolific scriptwriter, whose best-known series is probably Achille Talon.
