Autor

Lucía Lijtmaer (Buenos Aires, 1977) grew up in Barcelona. She is a writer and cultural critic. She is a regular contributor to El País . She is the author of the hybrid chronicle Casi nada que ponerte; of the essays Yo también soy una chica lista and Ofendiditos . On the criminalization of protest: "The author explains wonderfully how the right, the system and the mainstream in general have managed to criminalize protest in such a way that, today, when someone declares that he is 'politically incorrect', in reality he has every sign of being fash" (Oriol Puig Taulé, Núvol ), and of the novel Cauterio, currently being translated into English, French, German and Italian, among other languages: "A skilled tour-de-force. A novel that signals, wounds, accompanies and unsettles" (Carlos Zanón, El País ). With Isa Calderón, she co-directs the late night cultural podcast Deforme Semanal, winner of two Premios Ondas.

Maureen Shaughnessy is a writer and translator from Spanish. Her published translations include works by Sara Gallardo, Hebe Uhart, and Nurit Kasztelan. Her translations have been published by Archipelago Books and Cardboard House Press, and featured in The Paris Review, Brick, World Literature Today, LALT, AGNI, WWB and Asymptote. Her forthcoming translations include a novel by Lucía Lijtmaer and microfictions by Leila Sucari. Raised in Oregon, she now lives in Bariloche, Argentina.
