This is a special anniversary issue in celebration of the 50th volume in the Yearbook of Liturgy and Hymnology series. It opens with a review of the history of this series of yearbooks. To celebrate the special occasion, a new facsimile edition of the so-called "Eight-Song Book" of 1524 has also been published. The President of the Council of the Protestant Church of Germany (EKD), Nikolaus Schneider, wrote a Foreword for the volume and praised both the scientific efforts displayed by the Yearbook as well as the work that has been done to make liturgy and hymnology a part of everyday church life.The liturgical contributions concern the future perspectives of liturgy in the Protestant Church of Germany. The volume is rounded off by a historical review of the past few years. The section on hymnology is devoted to questions surrounding music in the Church and other publications in this regard.mehr

Dieser 50. Band des Jahrbuchs für Liturgik und Hymnologie ist als Jubiläumsband angelegt. Er wird eröffnet mit einem Rückblick auf die Geschichte des Jahrbuchs. Ebenfalls im Zeichen des Jubiläums steht die Neuauflage des Faksimiledrucks des sogenannten »Achtliederbuchs« von 1524. Der Ratsvorsitzende der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD), Präses Nikolaus Schneider, hat ein Grußwort zum Jubiläumsband verfasst und die wissenschaftliche Leistung des Jahrbuchs ebenso gewürdigt wie auch die durch den Gegenstand der Liturgie und des Liedes gegebene Nähe zur kirchlichen Wirklichkeit.Die liturgischen Beiträge formulieren zukünftige Perspektiven der evangelischen Liturgiewissenschaft.
