Hallo,my name is Max, and I moved to Germany in the pursuit of love and freedom, ironically around the perfect timing of a global pandemic. I jumped into an adventure in the hopes of learning German - which is equally as confusing as German bureaucracy. Luckily I am enjoying my time deciphering the language and diving into German culture - albeit in lockdown. I learned through trial and error - reading stories or understanding a passing remark by a native speaker - which always led to coming face to face with the dreaded monster that you will definitely eventually face: idioms - the moment when you understand each word, yet have no clue what the hidden meaning is behind the words nor what is the origin story.Therefore, I decided to use my lovely skill of child-like drawings to illustrate the meaning using different characters in a comic-style strip, while exploring the hidden story behind the expressions that even native speakers might scratch their heads in wonder to why do Germans actually say that.I hope this book will shed some light on some German idioms, and be an experience as fun as I had creating it.Enjoy.mehr
