World Vision's transformational development in Chad:

A faith-based NGO approach to humanitarian response - Großformatiges Paperback. Klappenbroschur
BuchKartoniert, Paperback
104 Seiten
Englisch
Our Knowledge Publishingerschienen am23.11.2022
This book aims to question the relevance of World Vision's humanitarian action in Chad. To legitimize its humanitarian action, World Vision has been able to rely on a tool of influence: emergency relief, the promotion of transformational development and advocacy. As a faith-based NGO, World Vision attests to the activism of religious actors on the international scene, particularly in the humanitarian arena. The result is that World Vision's humanitarian work in Chad has left a mixed record. Beyond the hope maintained by World Vision when it entered Chad, all is not rosy. Certainly, the organization has achieved significant successes throughout its area of operation, but there are traces of an unfulfilled mission because the restoration of human dignity, which is the very definition of humanitarian action, has not been translated into reality. If on the one hand World Vision's humanitarian action has established a certain stability within the population, on the other hand this action has produced perverse effects, because the population is languishing under the yoke of poverty.mehr
