Autor

Hu-Chen Liu received his MSc degree in Industrial Engineering from Tongji University, Shanghai, China, in 2010, and his PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Management, Shanghai University. His main research interests include quality and reliability management, multi-criteria decision making, Petri Net theory and applications, and healthcare operation management. He has published more than 60 papers in these areas in leading journals, such as IIE Transactions, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, IEEE Transactions on Reliability, the International Journal of Production Research, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, and Computers & Industrial Engineering. He has engaged in numerous scientific research projects at both the national and provincial level, including those for the National Natural Scienceof Foundation of China, Shanghai Young Eastern Scholar Program, and Shanghai Pujiang Program.

Dr. Liu is a member of the INFORMS Quality Statistics and Reliability Section; the IEEE Transactions on Reliability, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology groups; the Japan Ergonomics Society; and the China Association for Quality.
