Generationen von Klavierschülern haben sich mittels der liebenswerten Gattung der "Sonatine" langsam an das Spiel der "großen Schwester", der Sonate, herangetastet. Anhand einer dreibändigen Ausgabe mit ausgewählten Sonatinen aus zwei Jahrhunderten können kleine und große, leicht fortgeschrittene Klavierschüler hier einen Streifzug durch die Entwicklung der Klaviermusik vom frühesten 18. Jahrhundert bis ans Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts unternehmen. Der erste Band enthält 26 leichte bis mittelschwere Sonatinen aus der Zeit des Hochbarock und der Vorklassik, u.a. von C. Ph. E. Bach, J. Chr. Fr. Bach, Händel, G. Benda, D. Scarlatti und A. Soler. Da der Begriff der "Sonatine" in dieser Zeit noch in recht unterschiedlicher Bedeutung gebraucht wurde, bietet der Band Werke verschiedenen Charakters. Einfache Stücke am Anfang erleichtern dem Schüler den Einstieg; dann folgt eine chronologische Anordnung der Sonatinen. Eine Tabelle zeigt die wichtigsten Verzierungen und ihre richtige Ausführung nach den Regeln der Zeit. With the aid of our three-volume selection of sonatinas from two centuries, intermediate piano pupils large and small can undertake an excursion through the development of piano music from the early 18th to the end of the 19th century. This first volume contains 26 easy to moderately difficult sonatinas from the time of the High Baroque and pre-classical periods by composers including C.P.E. and J.C.F. Bach, Handel, Georg Benda, Domenico Scarlatti and Antonio Soler. Since the term "sonatina" had quite diverse meanings at this time, the volume offers works of varied character. The simple pieces at the beginning provide a way in; then the sonatinas follow in chronological order.
