Autor

Antonio Paolucci hat nach Abschluss des Kunstgeschichtsstudiums bei Roberto Longhi in Florenz seine Laufbahn bei den Beni Culturali begonnen. Er war Generaldirektor der Museen in Venedig, Verona und Mantua, leitete das Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florenz und fast zwanzig Jahre den Museumsverbund Florenz. Zuletzt war er von 2007 bis 2016 Direktor der Vatikanischen Museen. Als italienischer Renaissancespezialist verfasste er zahlreiche Museums- und Ausstellungskataloge, sowie Publikationen u. a. über Donatello, Piero delle Francesca, Michelangelo, Raffael und Benvenuto Cellini.
