Die Geschichte transnationaler Migrationen ist in den letzten Jahren zu einem zentralen Themenbereich historischer Forschungen geworden - nicht zuletzt aufgrund der gegenwärtig hohen Aktualität des Themas. Der vorliegende Band versammelt verschiedene Perspektiven auf die Vielfalt und die teilweisen engen Wechselbeziehungen unterschiedlicher Migrationsmuster, wie Binnen-, kontinentale und transatlantische Wanderungen. Obwohl die Aufmerksamkeit historischer Migrationsforschung lange Zeit vor allem den spektakulären, transatlantischen Wanderungen gegolten hat, hat sich gezeigt, dass sich selbst im späten 19.
