She is the author of Scottishness and Irishness in New Zealand Since 1840 and Migration, Ethnicity, and Madness: New Zealand, 1860-1910, the co-author of Tea and Empire: James Taylor in Victorian Ceylon, and the co-editor of Migrant Cross-Cultural Encounters in Asia and the Pacific and Migration, Ethnicity, and Mental Health: International Perspectives, 1840-2010.
