The focus of the discussion in this volume is laid on pragmatics which, so far, did not belong to the main topics of Indo-European linguistics, yet it is a well-established subject of research in general linguistics. One aim of this setting is to intensify the implementation of findings of pragmatic research in the field of Indo-European linguistics as well as to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different research approaches and schools in terms of opinion and experience exchange. Pragmatic categories in corpus languages, their description and reconstruction form the centre of this work in order to advance the research of their diachronic development. This volume compiles both articles on the description and the modelling of theories and studies on single philological matters in which the applicability of general linguistic approaches is tested. Therefore, this volume contributes considerably to this branch of linguistic research and illustrates what the different areas of historic-comparative linguistics each in its own frame are able to contribute to in interdisciplinary cooperation.mehr
