Autor

Dr. phil. Kurt Pahlen, geb. 1907 in Wien, war in Buenos Aires Generalmusikdirektor der Filharmonica Metropoitana und Direktor des Teatro Colón sowie Gründer und Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Musikgeschichte an der Universität Montevideo. Gastdirigent bedeutender Konzert- und Opernorchester und Gastprofessor vor allem südamerikanischer Universitäten. Zahlreiche Fachveröffentlichungen. Arbeitsschwerpunkt: Vermittlung des Opernrepertoires an ein breites Publikum. 1994 Ernennung zum Ehrendoktor von der Universität Buenos Aires.
