The general objective of this research is to present "The food system of the Zapotec highlanders during the patron saint's feast of the Virgen del Rosario". Its purpose is to demonstrate that the act of eating, not only fulfils a biological question, in this case, it fulfils a social need: that of maintaining a tradition and an identity in spite of being in another territory. In order to do this, a geographical and historical investigation of Cuautepec was carried out, allowing me to understand how the Malacates colony was consolidated, and I also learned that not only Zapotecs from the highlands arrived, but also other migrants.mehr
